I love the 2019 Clos Marsalette. This classic Graves offers loads of earthy dark currant fruits, tobacco, tapenade, and chocolatey goodness on the nose. It's just as good on the palate and is medium to full-bodied, with a fruit end-loaded, textured mouthfeel, sweet tannins, and a great finish. Along with the 2018, I suspect it's one of the finest vintages from this estate.

The 2019 Clos Marsalette has a deep garnet-purple color, revealing notes of crushed red and black currants, candied violets and pencil shavings on the nose, followed by hints of garrigue, tilled soil and crushed rocks. The medium-bodied palate is delicately played with loads of fragrant earth accents to the red and black fruit flavors, framed by grainy tannins and seamless freshness, finishing savory. (LPB)

The 2019 Clos Marsalette is a muscular wine. A blast of dark cherry, plum, gravel. Smoke, licorice, spice and wild flowers make a strong opening statement. I especially admire how the 2019 builds over time. This is a decidedly virile style, though a measure of patience will likely be required. (AG)
