This too is pleasingly perfumed with its airy aromas of red cherry, currant and discreet spice wisps. There is excellent intensity to the mineral-suffused and delineated medium weight flavors that display fine focus on the linear, youthfully austere and dusty finish. As it often is in its youth, the mouthfeel seems a bit skinny but this wine has a proven track record of fleshing out with time in bottle. Recommended provided it's cellared.

The 2018 Chambolles-Musigny Les Veroilles comes across a little gawky on the nose, just missing the cohesion of Bruno Clair’s Marsannays. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins, crisp red berry fruit, a touch of white pepper and a slightly short finish at the moment. It just needs to gain more flesh. (NM)
