SF Chronicle / Esther Mobley's Wine of the Week - 4/7/21. Winemaker's Notes: "Gloriously pale pink with a salmon edge, the 2019 is another classic in the style of Provençal Rosés. Intense aromas of white peach and strawberries are followed by a silky smooth and fresh entry on the palate. The minerality and bright acidity nicely balance the fruit characters. This wine is irresistible, either a stand alone sipper, or paired with light summer fare, especially grilling fare, spicy Asian dishes, or a variety of soft cheeses such as a chevre. Production Notes: The 2019 Rosé de Grenache is made from my vineyard in the hills above the town of Sonoma, with the fruit for this wine coming from the 700 and 800 blocks of Grenache. Planted in 1999, these blocks are mixed with clone 513 and 515 and are field grafted to St. George rootstock.
Delivered whole cluster (without crushing) directly to press. This traditional Rosé method coupled with a slow, cold fermentation allowed for delicate coloration and exquisite fruit expression. 100% native yeast."

This beguiles you with ocean breeze, peach and berry scents and a juicy and palate quenching mouthful of earthy strawberry fruit. The finish is saline and satisfying.
