Soft wood influence is present on the mildly exotic aromas of citrus, melon and dried yellow fruit. The rich medium weight flavors possess an interesting herbal tea character along with a refreshing salinity, all wrapped in a bone-dry, youthfully austere and more complex finish. This is an excellent aligoté. Burghound *Outstanding Top Value!*

The 2018 Bourgogne Aligoté Champ Forey has quite a complex bouquet of light citrus fruit infused with lanolin and linseed scents. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity; subtle touches of orange zest and tangerine lead to a saline finish with modest length. Not quite the best of Pataille’s Aligoté wines this year, but it does everything you want it to do. (NM)
