  A complex and dense Chardonnay with lots of ripe apples and nougat with hints of cream and pie crust, following through to a full body. Lovely fruit. Very flashy and attractive.

  Light yellow hue and soft, subtle, creamy cashew nut bouquet, the palate following on from there with a medium to full-body and slight tannin grip. A richer, fuller, rounder style within this maker's ambit. The nose is a tad subdued, the palate is excellent. The wine took time to emerge and was finally superb.   This is the oldest Upper Yarra vineyard, and one of the largest in either the Upper or Lower Yarra. The mouthfeel and thus the fruit/oak acid balance - are all singing the same note, let alone page. It has great length and aftertaste.

  Oakridge is producing some of Australia’s best Chardonnays. Focusing on the absolute best vineyard sites in the Yarra Valley, Oakridge has been knocking it out of the park, crafting delicious wines that show the character of the site in which it is grown. We sold over a 1,000 bottles of the Henk Vineyard last year, and are excited to showcase the new 2019 Willowlake Vineyard Chardonnay in 2021. Willow Lake is located in the upper Yarra, and as a warmer site, yields a wine with power and richness. On those nose there are nuances of flint and wet stone above a backdrop of peachy stone fruit and candied citrus. The palate is rich and full, provided focused, powerful fruit counter balanced with zesty acidity. A must-try for anyone who is a fan of Oakridge.
