A super-fresh and bright nose features notes of airy red berry fruit that is laced with subtle earth and forest floor nuances. The mid-palate texture is more elegant than is typical for the genre and while there is a trace of backend rusticity, overall I would describe this as a relatively refined Bourgogne. Worth checking out.
This special selection of Pinot Noir, a blend of seven parcels, makes wonderfully elegant wine despite its modest appellation. It's not deeply coloured and has delicate cranberry aromas. It's silky and graceful, textured but not weighty, and has adequate concentration. It shows lift and charm if little depth of flavour, and a delicate finish with light tannins. Quite long. Aromas of plums and wild berries mingle with hints of raw cocoa and spices, introducing the 2018 Bourgogne Pinot Fin, a medium to full-bodied, charming and enveloping wine, its fleshy core of fruit framed by powdery, melting tannins. Cropped at a modest 32 hectoliters per hectare, this is Lachaux's highest-yielding cuvée in the 2018 vintage. (WK)
The 2018 Bourgogne Pinot Fin offers cranberry, raspberry and potpourri on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with powdery tannins and fine definition. Dark fruit surfaces toward the finish. Lovely... and dainty. (NM)
