Grilled-plum, black-olive, dark-chocolate and dried-oyster aromas here. Some mushroom, too. It’s medium-bodied and juicy. Turns a little lean, but still outstanding.
The 2018 Merlot from Hubert de Boüard is plump, juicy and full of near to medium-term appeal. Succulent red cherry, sweet spice and new leather are front and center. Drink it over the next few years. (AG)
The 2018 Merlot offers plenty of true Merlot limestone character with its red and black fruits, spice, dried herbs, and subtle floral aromas and flavors. It's charming, medium-bodied, and easy drinking, and I suspect well worth the price.
Made from 100% Merlot, the (2018) Merlot is medium to deep garnet-purple colored and wafts from the glass with earthy/meaty notes of tilled soil, fallen leaves and charcuterie over a core of baked plums, blackberry pie and cracked black pepper. Medium-bodied, soft and fresh in the mouth, it has just enough juicy fruit and an earthy finish. (LPB)
