The 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cazetiers 1er Cru has an exquisite bouquet of crystalline red berry fruit laced with minerals, wonderfully delineated and focused. The palate is smooth and sensual on the entry, and very cohesive, with a perfect line of acidity. Pure and ravishing, armed with a satin-textured finish, this is going to be very difficult to resist once in bottle. Superb. (NM)

Rich and dramatic, the sample I tasted of the 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Cazetiers (Domaine Louis Jadot) was a little marked by its élevage, a liberal application of toasty new oak mingling with its bouquet of sweet berry fruit. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and nicely balanced, I suspect it wasn't showing its best when I encountered it. (WK)
