There are two barrels of the 2019 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses (Domaine Louis Jadot), a perfumed, incipiently complex wine that bursts with aromas of orange rind, rose petals, cherries, plums and warm spices. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and layered, with lively acids and rich structuring tannins, it's a beautiful wine in the making. (WK)
The 2019 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru, which includes around 30% stems via whole cluster, has a wonderful bouquet featuring white pepper and clove aromas. The fresh, vibrant palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins, white pepper and a touch of garrigue. It feels elegant and refined, not powerful or enormously long. This will give a lot of pleasure for the next 30 years. Excellent. (NM)
This domaine-owned parcel of Amoureuses was purchased from the Clair-Daü heirs in 1985. A small portion of the fruit here is included as whole stems. After a slow fermentation, with gentle punching down and pumping over, the wine is aged in Cadus barrels to produce a wine with ripe, plummy black fruit aromas, a distinctly savoury, mineral edge and a firm yet velvety, almost voluptuous texture on the palate. Discreet and long on the palate. Drinking Window 2021 - 2025. (CC)
