Also stunning, the 2017 Rasteau Marc checks in as 50% Grenache and 25% each of Syrah and Mourvèdre that spent just under a year in demi-muids. Gorgeous notes of cassis, blackberries, ground herbs, and earth all emerge from this rich, Provençal, full-bodied Rasteau. With ultra-fine tannins, incredible balance, and a great finish, it too is one of the finest wines I’ve tasted from this estate.
Hints of dusty earth and sun-scorched garrigue on the nose are juxtaposed by ripe, intensely extracted boysenberry and black fig in this unctuous blend of Grenache (50%), Mourvèdre (25%) and Syrah 25%. It's a massive, mouthfilling wine accented by spicy kicks of licorice and olive. (AI)
The 2017 Rasteau Cuvee Marc is a firm, tannic wine that needs a couple of years to mellow. It's half Grenache, with the balance a blend of Mourvèdre and Syrah, and offers attractive scents of garrigue and cherry cola. (JC)
