Until very recently, I had never heard of ...And...Wine Company. A sample came to me, and I was intrigued by the classy, understated label, so I popped it open and WOW! It was incredible! I jumped online to read more about the wine and very quickly realized exactly why the wine was so delicious. ...And...Wine Co.'s estate vineyard, planted by the Terry family, is a small site on a ridge top in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA. The vines are planted in exceptionally rocky, fractured basalt with minimal topsoil, hand-tended and immaculately farmed. But what immediately caught my eye was whom the Terry family had recruited to make their wines...none other than Jared Etzel. Jared is the son of Mike Etzel, founder of Beaux Frères, one of Oregon's finest producers for many decades. In recent years after honing his skills from a very young age at Beaux Frères, Cristom, and Brick House, Jared started his own project, Domaine Roy. I met Jared in Oregon a few years back and have long been a huge fan of his wines. His winemaking is a mixture of experimentation and acute attention to detail. His wines have wonderful fruit but also don't shy away from the more complex, savory, earthy elements of Pinot Noir. The 2018 ...And... Wine Co. Estate Pinot Noir is exactly that—floral, brambly fruit, ripe raspberry, morello cherry, baking spice, and more earthy notes of moss, leaf litter, and sandalwood. Very juicy and pure on the palate with lots of energy and drive. This is simply a fantastic bottle of Pinot Noir that can stand shoulder to shoulder with the very best and most expensive releases you'll find from the top producers of the region. Thanks to a stunning winery-direct deal, I bought every case they had of this beauty, and we can offer it to you for 50% off the original price. Don't miss this one. It's a stunner.
