The nose and are palate nicely aligned here, with notes of roasted nuts, caramel and cinnamon accompanying red-berried fruit, leading to a full, spicy finish. (Panel Tasting)
Date, fig and mulled plum fruit flavors form this broad and juicy core. Cinnamon, black tea and hazelnut notes fill in the background. Shows some power, with the cut and drive for balance. Drink now. (JM)
The wine is rich, ripe and fruity with good acidity as well as a bite of spirit and old-wood aging. It is well balanced, keeping the freshness of a 10-Year-Old while also showing good signs of its wood aging. Just what a 10-Year-Old should be. (RV)
Tasted at John E. Fells portfolio tasting. This 10-Year Old tawny has a vibrant, citrus nose with touches of sloe, Clementine, fresh ginger and lemon rind. It leaps from the glass. The palate is smooth and viscous with notes of dried mango, sloe, a touch of eau-de-vie, ginger and cloves. Nice weight on the finish with that warmth of alcohol keeping you snug and warm. Tasted September 2009. (NM, Wine Journal)
