I have admired and purchased a number of Anderson's Cabernet Sauvignons. This Bordeaux-styled wine is aged in barrel, of which 40%-50% is new. Some vintages in the early and mid-nineties have displayed a chalky, astringent tannin level, which may not completely age out of the wines. This chalky tannin character is noticeable in the 1995, 1996 and 1997, but, curiously, not as much in the proprietary red wine, Eloge. Nevertheless, there is a lot to like in these Cabernets. (RP)
