Really fruity, with an abundance of raspberry, violet and berry character. Full-bodied, with a velvety tannin structure and a long berry and toasted oak aftertaste. The oak is a bit dominant, so give it time to mellow. (JS)
In 1995, the renowned Cabernet Sauvignon Georges de Latour Private Reserve is extremely tannic, with noticeable oak, earth, and spice in the closed, unyielding aromatics. The color is a healthy dark ruby. The wine is medium-bodied with copious cassis buttressed by high tannin, generous oak, and sweet black currant fruit, a firm finish, and a closed personality. (RP)
Healthy bright, dark red. Dark cherry, currant and licorice aromas are accented by menthol and herbs. Boasts a rather suave texture and nicely integrated acidity, with some distinctly cool elements counterpointed by a suggestion of sweetness. Finishes with granular, dusty, somewhat drying tannins and slightly edgy acidity. (ST)
