Always a huge favorite at K&L, the '97 Mount Eden Cabernet is one of the finest Cabernets you'll find in this price range. The location of the vineyards where this wine comes from has a very long history (by CA standards) of grape growing, going back to Paul Masson before the turn turn of the 20th century. Martin Ray took charge of grape growing in the area and in the 1960's he developed several partnerships that would eventually lead to his losing this particular property. The first vintage under the Mount Eden label was in 1972.
