According to the Wine Spectator: "Lithe and supple, its fine-grained tannins subdued enough to let the raspberry and cherry flavors emerge brightly on the finish. A delicate wine with charm, despite a touch of bitterness. Drink now through 2004. 570 cases made." (08/98) According to Robert Parker: "The 1996 Bednarik Vineyard reveals a medium-to-dark ruby color and aromas of black cherries, pumpkin, and red currants. It is a medium-to-full-bodied, silky-textured, and well-delineated wine with loads of forward red and black cherry fruit. When first tasted, it appeared to be one of the most backward of Panther Creek's '96s. In my second tasting it was the most forward of the single vineyard wines, ending on a soft, long, and satiny finish. Projected maturity: 1999-2004." (10/98) K&L's notes - Beautiful nose really opens up in the glass. Great balance. Extremely tasty wine with good richness and round tannins that make it delicious right now but able to develop for several years if you can stay away.
