Tasting Notes

From the winery: "Kenwood Vineyards’ third Artist Series Cabernet Sauvignon features "Ghost Play #37," by artist Jim Koss. The "Ghost Plays" of Jim Koss began as a form of poetic communication to close friends. "Often I found that I could say as much with images as I could with words so I began to incorporate the small watercolor landscapes in my work. The images are themselves a language as efficient as the alphabet." "Ghost Play #37" is a fine example of this young artist’s unique poetic expression. Jim works as an art teacher and a maker of fine books in Berkeley, California. This wine was made completely from Cabernet grapes grown on a small hillside vineyard in Glen Ellen, in Sonoma Valley. In 1977, California experienced a second year of drought, yielding small grapes of high intensity in this non-irrigated vineyard."
