Pahlmeyer's 1993 has an unbelievable resemblance to a fine vintage of Bordeaux's renowned Chateau Leoville Las-Cases. The saturated dark ruby/purple color is followed by a wonderfully pure, vivid nose of blackcurrants, minerals, and spicy, high quality oak. Medium to full-bodied, rich and elegant, this well-endowed, beautifully concentrated, graceful Cabernet Sauvignon will need 5-7 years of cellaring; it will keep for 20+ years. This fascinating wine could easily be confused with a top class Medoc if tasted blind. (RP)
Well-balanced, with earthy currant, blackberry, anise, cedar and spice flavors that are tightly wound and supported by firm, drying tannins. (JL)
