Olivier's 1989 is one of the best efforts in some time from this perennial underachiever. The bouquet is dominated by gobs of spicy, new oak, and a sweet, almost Beaujolais-like, red fruit character. In the mouth, it is medium-bodied, light, and soft. (RP)
I overrated this when it was first released. It's sleek and delicious though. Good ruby color. Fresh aromas of flowers and raspberries. Medium-bodied, with firm tannins and a chocolate, blackberry aftertaste.--1989 Bordeaux horizontal. (JS)
