Approachable now, but capable of further positive evolution, the 1980 is lush and supple, with abundant chocolate and dried-spice flavors and a long, warming finish. Drink now–2025.
A lovely soft nose of fig, prune and baked cherry. The palate is spicy and supple, not overly complex with a toffee-tinged finish. (NM)
A forgotten wine that has always been outstanding. Firm and tight, with raspberry and allspice character. Full-bodied and sweet, with a long, long finish. (JS)
Healthy crimson with a deep garnet rim. Light putty nose. Tastes like claret! Relatively dry. Great balance but not that sweet. Very stylistically dry and different.
