The 1997 Altamura is a wonderful example of everything you've come to expect from a great Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. The ranch where the vineyards and winery are located has been in the family since the 1850s and is situated high in the southeastern foothills above the Napa Valley in a small area known as Wooden Valley. The winery was established in 1985 by Frank Altamura, who is the grape grower and the winemaker of Altamura, fashioning only Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon, both outstanding!
