The present bottling of Lanson Blanc Label in the market was disgorged in October of 2017. The wine is drinking very nicely, offering up a complex nose of apple, a touch of peach, lovely soil tones, fresh-baked bread and incipient smokiness in the upper register. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied and focused, with a good core, pinpoint bubbles, fine acids and a long, complex and well-balanced finish. This has the cut and backend bounce of a non-malo bubbly, but with the acids beautifully buffered. A fine Brut NV.
A firm Champagne, with an almost monolithic frame of acidity, softened somewhat by a lacy mousse that conveys a delicate mesh of black cherry, lemon granita, pastry and candied ginger flavors. (AN)
Lanson's big seller remains crisp and fruity, with a tight, bright character and a mineral texture. Without any malolactic fermentation, the wine retains freshness and delicious acidity. (RV)
Generously round, this is an easy, approachable Champagne with toasty scents and gentle lime-like acidity. It has the texture of a cream puff, making it an appealing aperitif.
