Good full ruby. Superripe aromas of blackberry liqueur and pepper; shows a distinct aspect of surmaturite but also a faint green component. Sweet on entry, then rather dominated by powerful acids and firm underlying structure. (ST)
One of the new stars in the Turley portfolio is their 1998 Zinfandel Pringle Family Vineyard (16.1% alcohol). This is among the most firmly-structured and backward of the Turley Zinfandels. It offers a dense ruby/purple color as well as earthy, foresty, black raspberry, and black cherry liqueur aromas. The wine is deep and full-bodied, with some tannin, excellent purity and overall symmetry. (RP)
