According to Robert Parker: "...highly successful for the vintage. The color is medium ruby, with some brown and amber at the edges. A gentle, suave, interesting, mature bouquet, and soft, round, curranty flavors have provided pleasure since the late seventies. Yet the wine refuses to fade. Still at its peak…" (Bordeaux Book, 3rd Edition) According to the Wine Spectator: "Holding on very well for a '76, and delicious to boot. Brick-ruby in color, with rose petal and plum aromas and flavors, a hint of mushroom. Medium body, smooth texture.--Pichon-Lalande vertical." (11/97)
