The 1992 Mayacamas is a terrific bottle of cabernet that is just now beginning to blossom and offer up fine drinking, though it will likely continue to improve with further bottle age. The deep and classic nose offers up a superb mélange of red and black cherries, chipotle peppers, tobacco, a touch of tar, cigar ash and a complex base of soil. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and beautifully tangy, with a rock solid core of fruit, a lovely base of stony soil tones, modest tannins and superb length and grip on the complex and very classy finish.
Dark cherries, plums, earthiness, tobacco, menthol and crushed leaves are some of the notes that meld together in the 1992 Cabernet Sauvignon. Ample and broad on the palate, the 1992 delivers gorgeous texture, expressive inner perfume and tons of nuance. Hints of cedar, rosemary and sage wrap around the expressive finish. (AG)
